Astcote Chapel is situated in a village about 3 miles from Towcester and about 7 miles from the centre of Northampton. It is one of a group of 4 small villages all interlinked by history and geography.
Although small in number its congregation is large in heart and sees its mission as reaching the local community – particularly children and families – with the Good News of Jesus. Alongside its 13 members are several adherents who join the weekly morning service. The Chapel building has comfortable chairs, with a sofa, toys and books for children at the back. Music for worship is a mixture of modern and traditional accompanied by keyboard/guitars.
Members are active in the work of bringing the Word of God to the local primary school in the form of an after school club (Thursday Club), and weekly assemblies and one member is a school governor. This is in addition to our workshops for primary children at Christmas (Christmas Cracker) and Easter (Easter Eggsplosion). The church is affiliated to the Christian Motorcycle Association and a Biker Service is held bi-monthly on Sunday evenings.
For the ladies of the area a monthly lunch meets (The Well Group) at which a speaker completes the short time of fellowship. Also once a month lunch is served to our senior members of the community (Lunch Club).
We trust that we shall continue to grow in faith, outreach and support for each other.
