Great Billing Methodist Church is a small but flourishing Local Worshipping Community. We have a mix of fortnightly afternoon services at the chapel at 3.00 pm. Regular services with a Methodist preacher alternate with more informal services such as our popular ‘Scones of Praise’ when we are also joined by adherents and friends from other churches. For details phone 406200 or see our Service Schedule below.
During the winter months our preacher-led services may be hosted on zoom to enable more of our members to attend safely in bad weather.
We look forward to welcoming you to Great Billing Methodist chapel.
Both the chapel and the adjoining well-equipped kitchen and fellowship room, are regularly used by various groups from the circuit, parish and wider community.
Billing Knitting Group meet twice a month on Thursdays 10-12.00
Billing Chapel hosts monthly Circuit Reflective Mornings on the first Tuesday of every month from 10.30am – 12 noon. These cover a wide variety of subjects and always include a time for quiet reflection. Coffee is served from 10.15.
A Zoom Prayer Breakfast is held online every Tuesday 8.30 – 9.00 a.m. This is a quiet, structured time of prayer for our world, our community, our churches and ourselves. We use a Celtic Liturgy, read a Psalm and pray together. For Zoom details please contact the Circuit Administrator.
We also hold social events such as Fish & Chip lunches, and Charity fundraising events such as Coffee Mornings and Book Sales.
As part of the Billing Covenanted Churches Together (BCCT), we share services and activities at different times of the year with our ecumenical partners, such as ‘Scones of Praise’ at All Saints, Little Billing, a village Act of Remembrance in November, Study courses such as ‘Light Up November’ and Lent study or a Reflective Lent Morning. We support different Holy Week services and join for a United Service during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
